Sunday was not our typical "day of rest". The missionaries here have graciously shared all they have with us, even the homes that they live in. Since the family of the home we were "inhabiting" for the past three weeks is returning this week from Kenya, we rose early and began to transition to a new home. That meant moving all refrigerator and freezer items, and pantry supplies in addition to personal luggage, etc. The move went very well with all hands pitching in. Pray for the family whose home we now "inhabit" as they are in Kenya enrolling their 2nd child at Rift Valley Academy. The commitment of these parents to the work in country and all the resulting sacrifices involved... well, it's an emotional time sending your child away to boarding school.
After breakfast, we walked to the PowerPac where we took a team photo using the drone so we could capture components of the PowerPac with the team. Sorry I couldn't attach that photo as we haven't downloaded it from the drone yet. We also had a short dedication service of scripture and prayer to dedicate this "tool" to the work of HIS kingdom!
After lunch we were sad to see Team two depart. Their travels went well to Bujumbura but we received word later that two of the travelers were issued "standby" tickets. Fortunately, all were able to get on the plane and arrived in Brussels safely this morning.
While having dinner with Faders, we received word that around 20 people had come to the ER for triage from a bus/pedestrian accident. We were being asked to pray. The doctors said they were so glad to have electricity to be able to help all these people after dark.
Team three (four members) have been here for a week now and have one more week to go before departing.
Team four (two members) will be arriving today. We look forward to them joining us.
The majority of the work has now been completed. The remaining two weeks will be set aside for "punch-list" items and repairing preexisting issues at the hospital. Pray for us as we trouble shoot and try to repair equipment such as a dental chair.
