New Week New Team

Yesterday we sad goodbye to six of our team mates from the past two weeks, as they began their journeys home.
Thank you Alan, Paul Don, Chrissy, Dale, and Jim.  Chrissy is a visiting nurse and she is also Dale's daughter.  Her husband Brian remains here at Kibuye through this week.  Caleb is in the center of the photo and has been our team leader.  He took this group of six to Bujumbura to the airport and then picked up four, who just arrived.  They are Don, Jonathan, Oliver, and Isaac.  At the end of this week there will be a much bigger turnover as quite a few of us will be heading home.

Today we concentrated on pulling in the wires from the Solar Arrays to the Inverters.  By end of day tomorrow we hope to have the sun producing power for the hospital.  As we worked through some issues we made some changes to the incoming power from Burundi, but it did not take away the problem we thought we were having.  Later in the day we began to move more hospital circuits onto the PowerPac power, and at 5:30PM we moved all of the major hospital circuits onto our new panel in the Utility Room of the hospital.  This is a big step forward as we now have major load on the battery system.  This has brought us to the point of moving many more circuits onto the PowerPac Grid.

Gerard and Ernie have now finished conduit runs to the Maintenance Container-Plex and also to the Busoma Plant.  We are expecting to pull the feeders in to these buildings in the next few days.  This will ad more load to the PowerPac as these are not presently connected to the Hospital.  In addition, there will be work at the Hospital Main Electrical Service and Generator, as we modify circuits there and make a connection to the staff housing which will add considerable load as well.
This is some of the electrical work we will be modifying in the next few days.

***Please continue to pray for our team as we have had close to half the team sick at one time or another, some for extended days.  We are not sure of the source of the sicknesses, as some have had fevers and cold sweats, vomiting and diarrhea.  It seems most likely to be caused by food we are eating or by the water, but not all of us have experienced the sickness - yet.  We have not experienced this many having problems on any recent I-TEC trips, and we are certain that the Evil One is trying his best to stop what we are doing and to stop what God is doing here at Kibuye.  We have sensed opposition on trips in the past, but this one seems unique.  Tom has had trouble flying his drone which is important in documenting the progress of the work, and Oliver and Isaac are now here to expand on that and they are planning on producing a new video of this project.
